The town has a special atmosphere with its approx. 90.000 inhabitants of which a third are students. The old town is a historical city dating from the Middle Ages. Firstly Tübingen was first mentioned 1000 years ago. A market is held in front of the Town Hall on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays as well as around the Jakobskirche St. Jakob´s Church on Saturdays. Things you can do in town:

Tübingen is an university town. The university is spread all over the town, so there is no special campus except for the sciences which are situated in a walking distance from the apartment. Restaurants, bars and pubs
There is quite a big offer of restaurants, bars and pubs in Tübingen. The best of them you can find here: Restaurants und Bars. Especially worth mentioning are two swabian restaurants with outdoor catering, which you can reach after a short hike: the castle Hohenentringen and the Hofgut Schwärzloch, both idyllically situated.
